Theme : Riverfront and its connection to the historical town centre
“TRENCIN si TY” (in translation TRENCIN is YOU) is a long-term project focused on public participation in urban decision-making. Its aim is to prepare terms and conditions of an international urban competition for the central city area in 2014 together with the citizens. The on-going preparatory process is realised in steps from the end of 2011, nowadays it has to pass through the final five up-coming milestones :
By 2015 the EU is planning to modernize 12km of railway, the part of larger European railway network. In Trencin the planned constructions will significantly influence historic and other inner-city areas particularly sensitive to development. This is unique opportunity to rethink the city and to make significant urban changes in the city center and waterfront that will work as the catalysts for social, cultural and economic development of the city.
